Tracey Ferris
Tracey came to Kingston in 2006 with a wealth of calisthenics experience. She first became involved in the sport at the age of three with Dandenong Calisthenics Club, competing with them for five years. When Dandenong closed, Tracey moved to Jeaden Calisthenics Club where she was a competitive member for eight years. Up until last year, Tracey competed with championship club Emmanuel Calisthiencs Club. Now in her 23rd year of competition, Tracey competes with our Masters section at Kingston Calisthenics College.
With fourteen years as a solo competitor, Tracey has extensive experience in solo competition – both in Calisthenics Solo and Graceful Solo sections. In 2003, Tracey won the CVI 17 years and over open calisthenics solo competition, an achievement that she describes as the highlight of her solo career.
Tracey has also been a member of the Victorian State Calisthenics Team and represented Victoria in the Seniors section at both the 2005 and 2007 National Championships.
Tracey first became involved in coaching calisthenics in 2004, when she assisted the Sub Juniors section at Emmanuel. After completing her coaching qualifications, Tracey was offered the position as Tinies coach at Kingston Calisthenics College in 2006. After an extremely successful first year with the Tinies, Tracey was asked to also coach the Sub Juniors section.
As well as coaching two sections, Tracey teaches Solos and Pupil Skills. It is amazing that she found the time to complete her Bachelor of Science/Education (Primary) at Monash University. Tracey now works as a primary school teacher.
