Joanna Admiraal
Joanna first became involved in teaching calisthenics at the age of 15, when she was asked to assist with the Sub Juniors section at Noble Park Calisthenics Club. By the age of 21 she had completed her coach's training and was appointed to the position of Sub Juniors coach. Joanna taught this section for two years, and during this time they were promoted from division seven to division six. She moved on from Noble Park in 2000 to co-found the Kingston Calisthenics College.
Joanna coached the Sub Juniors section at Kingston for two years, before taking a year off to travel around Europe. Upon her return in 2004, Joanna took up the challenge of coaching the Intermediate section at Kingston. Joanna has been very successful with the Intermediates - taking them from division nine to five in this short time. After another year off for travel in 2009, Joanna now coaches the Juniors section.
The highlight of Joanna's calisthenics coaching career occurred over the four years she was coaching the Intermediates and seeing her girls grow and succeed and form life long friendships. Another highlight for Joanna came in 2006 when the Intermediates won the aggregate in their first appearance at the Royal South Street Ballarat Eisteddfod.
When not involved in calisthenics, Joanna loves to travel, enjoys going to the movies and theatre. Joanna also fits in a full time job with a major sporting goods company, and has recently purchased her own house.
